Machine Cleaning
To maintain a good quality
paper and efficient operations, machinery must be kept clean. KAM
Biotechnology has developed a series of biochemical products to
clean each section of the machine without damaging the equipment.
KAM's products are environmentally-friendly - safe for human,
animal, vegetation and aquatic lives.
Remember, every time you
clean the machine using toxic chemicals, all the residue goes down
to your waste treatment plant resulting in a high shock of organic
loading in the clarifier. KAM's products contain a variety of
adapted bacterial cultures capable of utilizing chemical molecules
as a carbon source to break down organics in the primary treatment
phase.

Product Evaluation & Development Services
At the KAM laboratory, your felt
sample is first examined visually for machine wear, streaking or
realignment of fibres that could indicate mechanical difficulties
ranging from clogged spray nozzles to improperly leveled rollers.
Sample pieces are cut from the felt and each sample is then washed
in a different KAM detergent. After washing, a series of tests are
done to determine which detergent will do the best job.
One important aspect of
paper making is keeping felts clean and absorbent. Properly
operating felts maintain production speed and paper quality,
eliminating blows, crushing, wet streaks, checking as well as picking.
To help you achieve and
maintain optimum conditions, KAM analyzes your used felts and
recommends a specific cleaning regime. If needed, we will develop a
new product customized to your unique operational circumstances.
Our analysis of the used
felts and testing of the effectiveness of various cleaning
formulations includes the following:
- An absorbency test precisely
determines which felt absorbs the most water in a given time, as an
indication of the amount of soil removed from the fibre itself.
- A pre- and post-cleaning weight
test measures the amount of soil removed with the various test cleaning formulas.
- Porosity and caliper tests compare
the post-cleaning change of various formulas.
The test results and specific
recommendations for a bio-formulated product, concentration,
temperatures and time are sent to you.
